Project Help
What is that funny little box for on your utility bill? That is
where you can contribute to Project Help. All of the money
designated is given to HHPC and goes directly to helping people
of our community with their electric bills. There are no
administrative costs taken from the donations to this program.
As rates have increased and with the downturn in the economy, we
have seen a decrease in the donations to this much needed fund
but an increase in requests. This is an easy way for you to help
those in need. Please consider contributing to Project Help
through your utility company.
What is Project Help?
Project Help is a service provided by
Cookeville Electric and the Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation
and is administered by Helping Hands of Putnam County. Project Help provides
assistance to seniors, the disabled, and needy individuals and families to pay
for utility bills.
All the money donated through Project Help is only used for paying
utility bills for families in need; none is used for administration.
$8,947.89 has been donated to ProjectHelp through the City of Cookeville
and Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Cooperation so far in 2008. HHPC
uses other donated monies every month to pay utility bills that are above
the amount given through this program. The next time you are paying your
utility bill, consider adding a little extra for Project Help.
See the TVA website at
www.energyright.com\savingenergy for energy saving tips and home
